Games with none or minimal equiptment

In PE we have been participating in a variety of games that require little or no equipment.
Below is the Matrix which shows our progression in this unit of learning.

The table below shows my understanding of games with minimal or no equipment.
(Fill this table in, in as much detail as possible. )

Examples of Games that need minimal or no equipment.
What equipment would we usually need to play these games.
Why do we play games with minimal or no equipment?
Any tag games e.g Octopus or normal tag.

Silent ball

Games on the court e.g basketball or netball
Cones,  a ball, bibs, or a bat maybe?Because they are easy to set up and easy to understand and not complicated.

My Strengths.
Some things that I have done well during this unit of learning are listening to the instructions because I knew most of the games anyway.

My Next Steps.

Some things I could improve on when playing games with minimal or no equipment are getting more involved because I wasn't running around as much as other people were.

Home learning challenge E8: Choose a musical instrument and learn howto play a new song

Today I learned how to play the main part of the song stay by Riannah. I only recorded a little bit because this song is mostly the same thing al the way through. Stay is a hard song to do because of the transitions between how to move your hands to whatever note so I am really proud of myself for getting it!

Here is me doing apart of this song

Key leadership role merit post 5

On Wednesday was the kauri run bike run. I had to help in this because every year the house captains chose a game to run for the people who aren't racing at the time to burn off some energy since we don't get fitness or morning tea but we do get lunch because the run bike run only takes up half the day. Tracy and I decided we would run trickey tag because we got put with the year 6s and most of them like that game because they play it a lot. But we also played the game paper scissors rock because trickey tag started to get a bit boring. I showed excellence by handing out pozis to the people who were getting involved.

Kapa Haka merit post 5

Today was Kapa Haka. Firstly we had to take off our shoes, go into the hall and get into our lines that we learned at the start of the term. Next we sang a song while the non performance group was there and we sang he honore. After that the non performance people left the hall and went back to class. Straight after that we got into a song called Aoteroa by Stan walker witch we have been practicing quite a lot because it is a very hard song to learn. Lastly we sang a song that the school sang a log time ago and I knew all the lyrics because I was in kapa Haka that year! I showed active thinking by remembering where my spot in the line was so the teachers didn't have to find one for me along with all the other kids that couldn't remember.

R1 Improve your fitness: over 4 weeks swim 1k.

I have done at least 10 lengths every week for over 4 weeks in order to do well at trials. I have firstly been to jellie park 2 times, then to pioneer, also to wharanui 3 times. I have practiced my breaststroke and my freestyle mostly because these were the ones I chose for swimming trials. I showed active thinking by training for my sport events.

My proof is that I did so well in swimming sports (forgot to take photos!)😂

Kapa Haka merit post 4

Today was kapa Haka, we started with a warm up and we sung he honore. Then we started practicing our main song at the moment witch is Ka Waiata. We have made some echoes in this song and now it sounds so cool. Next we practiced and learnt some new bits of a song by Stan Walker called Aroteroa,     (I don't know how to spell it) Lastly we practiced a song called e rere taku manu and finished our kapa Haka for the week. I showed excellence by teaching some of the little kids how to sing the last song we practiced because I know it well.

Key leaderrship role merit #4

On Thursday I came back from swimming trials and found out that we and a leadership meeting! Because we had a power outage lots of the leaders had gone home but there were still enough to do a proper meeting. Firstly the house captains went away and finished our slide show on the challenge that we will be announced at assembly. After the house captains finished that we all played a game called hot seat. Hot seat is where you have an audience and just one person on a chair Infront of the audience, and an anoncer who was Mr Mc Cleod, so Mrs Mc Cleld would announce the person in the hot seat as a make believe character, e.g I was named as skreak. And then you would have to answer all the questions the audience had in character. I showed active thinking by staying in character even though doing streaks voice was embarrassing.
